Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for...
1. My parents
Who 35 years ago today had ME!

I'm so thankful that I am their last little girl and thankful for my five older crazy siblings. Thankful they kept trying when they weren't sure I was coming. Thankful that they live right up the street and my kids can ride their bikes to their house. Thankful they are involved grandparents. Thankful they are a wonderful example of service and living the gospel.

2. A husband that knows WAY more about computers than I do.
Going back to school would be impossible without his help. Especially now that I am taking an online class. I love my computer geek.

3. Cole and Cagneys primary teacher.
I substituted in their sunbeam class last week and boy did that make me grateful for their teacher! Bless her heart. She is a young newlywed with no kids yet. Maybe this experience will be good birth control. The lesson was on the Holy Ghost. Here is a little tidbit from our lesson...
Me: How do you feel when you do something right?
Wriggly Squirmy Kid: I have a bulldozer!
Me: Wow! That is cool. So how do you guys feel inside when you do something right?
Another Kid: I went to Disneyland last week!
Me: How fun! So how do you feel when you do something right?
Another Kid: It's my Birthday and I'm going to have a party!
Me: That is so neat! Okay, put your listening ears on and listen to my question. How.Do.You.Feel.When.You.Do.Something.Right?
Kid: Happy!
Me: Awesome! Lets color!

4. Naps
I love naps. I really needed one yesterday and it was wonderful. I think that places that have siestas in the middle of the day really know what they are doing.

5. Online student progress reports.
Every couple of weeks Miquelles grades are sent right to my email! It is wonderful. She is a really good student so usually I have no reason to be concerned but I love this little way of keeping on top of things.

Seen any good movies lately?

Trevor and I are going out to dinner and a movie tonight. We were planning on seeing this...

But I really want to see this one too...

Have you seen either of these movies? Or both? I can't decide...

Thankful Thursday

1. Kashi Go Lean Crunch with frozen blueberries
The best breakfast ever! And the blueberries make the milk all slushy and turn it purple!

2. Time with adults
Last saturday we got together with my parents and siblings. It was a really fun evening with just the adults. So what do adults do when they are away from their kids? Play Wii Fit. It was my first time and so much fun. We laughed. A lot.

3. Girls day
Last saturday was also girls day. We met at the Jordan River temple for a session and then went to Geckos for lunch. Lunch was so yummy. I complained about getting a teeny tiny scoop of guacamole and being charged $2.49 for it. They sent me a $10 gift certificate. I never ever complain about things when I go out to eat. But seriously $2.49 for a spoonful of guac??

4. January is over!
I'm sorry January but you are by far my least favorite month. But I really like February. I love valentines day, and my birthday is in February and it is a short month! Love it!

5. Valentines day
I know a lot of people hate valentines day and think it is just way too commercial. I LOVE it. Love the pink and red hearts everywhere. Love heart shaped sugar cookies. Love helping my kids get their valentines and valentine boxes ready. Some women want chocolates and roses for valentines day. Not me, roses make me think of funerals and I don't eat chocolate. Here is my idea of the perfect flowers and candy....

Bicycle, unicycle, unitard. Hockey puck, rattlesnake, monkey, monkey, underpants!

Just the other day my sister and I were talking about how much we miss this show.

Then today I saw this...

Who wants to go to New York with me????

Moms, ever have one of those days??

You know the kind, where you want to throw it all out the window? Days where you are so tired of being responsible and the voice of reason? And so tired of all of the things that you deal with on a daily basis that you don't usually give a second thought?
The morons that can't do the drop off and pick up at the school right...
The coats on the floor, still...after asking for them to be put in the coat closet repeatedly...
Dinner that needs to be made, again. Didn't I just feed you dinner yesterday? I really think I did...
The phone that keeps ringing...
The bickering and whining...
The homework (theirs and mine)...
The snow...
And on those days do you ever just feel like you want to get away from it all and do something CRAZY??
Well that is how I've felt today. Problem is there are five kids here with me and they need help with homework and piano practicing and dinner needs to be made (again). And I'm pretty sure it would be against the law for me to leave them here to fend for themselves. So I decided that I would just have to do something crazy at home. So....
I ate one of these...

Yes, I hear you asking yourself,
"How crazy can that be they have flax in them for heavens sake?!"
Well my friends, they are RECALLED!
We found out last week.
Most of the box was already gone.
I haven't taken the time to take them back and get my refund.
So I decided today to live on the edge.
I think tomorrow I will go and get a tattoo.
Or maybe I will just drink a diet coke, I'll decide tomorrow.
