I am here to tell you to fret no more! Our government is a well oiled machine! Everything MUST be completely under control! How do I know this? Because our government has time to worry about life threatening basketball standards! No need to worry, you are all safe.

This basketball standard has been right there next to our mailbox for 3 1/2 years. Today we received this note in our mailbox...
"Your address has been identified as having a potential hazard to the carriers and vehicles of the US Postal Service. Your Basketball Standard is impeding the carriers from approaching and exiting yours or your neighbor's mailbox safely. This card is to inform you of the safety problem. Thank you in advance for helping to reduce injuries and vehicle damage."
Phew...everything is under control people. No need to worry, our country is safe from evil basketball hoops.
*No postal workers were injured in the making of this blog post.

The postal service is really on one! I got a note about my trees impending their access to my mailbox? I stood out there and unless they're driving a semi truck I THINK they should make it ok. Oh how sad I even work for them and this kind of thing goes on ALL THE TIME at work. It is insane!
I will pay you $20 to attach your mailbox to the basketball pole.
Holy, I mean HOLY, cow! Maybe the advice should go to the mail carrier drivers who might actually cause vehicle damage whilst driving up onto your yard. I'd be checking out exactly what the problem is before I moved anything. Gimme a break. :o) See, it's people like you that make people go "postal". :o)
Perhaps the emotional trauma the postal carrier (and I use the term loosely) goes through by your b-ball standard being 15-20 ft away from them as they drive by in the safety of their small vehicle is what causes them to lose control of their fine motor skills and consistently leave my mailbox lid flapping open in the breeze...tards!
Don't move it-in fact I say creep it closer to the box every day...
How dare you risk the lives of innocent postal carriers for your children's joy. Who do you think you are and who do you think you are above?
Hee! It's amazing that the post office can stay in "business" at all, considering how poorly they run things. And don't get me started on the annoyance of them raising the rates on stamps every single year now...I couldn't even tell you how much stamps cost anymore because it changes so often I can't keep track! And under what logic do they decide that that makes sense? "Oh, people are sending fewer and fewer letters now, so let's discourage them even more by RAISING our prices!" Stupid if you ask me (which they obviously didn't).
